Born and raised Christian, I've believed in and followed Jesus Christ all of my life, and so years ago when I began seeking, I wasn't looking for something other than Jesus or Christianity, but was merely seeking inner peace.  I discovered the Nag Hammadi Scriptures after asking God to show me the truth, and I was astounded by what I found there.  Reading them launched me on an in-depth study of both the New and Old Testaments and non-canonical texts as well, and I found as I moved through these texts, that the information began fitting together like the pieces of a puzzle.  Answer after answer unfolded before me and I emerged from these studies totally transformed and with a faith and belief in Christ that is unshakable.  I wrote The Secret Door: Jesus, the Lost Gospels and the True Nature of Salvation in hopes of helping others find answers to the sometimes contradictory nature of the Bible itself, to point the way to the meanings of Jesus' parables, and find the truth that has been buried for so long.  Jesus truly gave us the answers to everything, but we need to seek those answers out by putting that scattered information back together again.  The information contained in The Secret Door will help readers do that.

But, as he warns, this book does not study the literature for its own sake. Instead, it focuses on the leaders of early non-Pauline Christianity, with their associates, from whom the literature provides indispensable evidence. About the Author
Professor F.F. Bruce was born in Elgin, Scotland and received his education at the universities of Aberdeen, Cambridge and Vienna. He was lecturer in Greek at the Universities of Edinburgh and Leeds and then moved on to Sheffield where he served as Professor of Biblical History and Literature. He was appointed Rylands Professor of Biblical Criticism and Exegesis at the University of Manchester in 1959. Professor Bruce died in September 1990.
